Repurposing Old Books

If you happen to know me, I am sure that you know my home is filled with Gazillions of books. We own so many bookcases, we don’t know where to place them anymore. There are books in the kitchen, there are books in the bedroom, there are books in the living room and even in the hallway. Closets are filled with boxes full of books that I somehow can not make my husband give away.

I often stumbled upon pictures of DIYs using old books, and every time I am saying to myself: “Omg, I am so doing this with all those dusty books!”. But then again, I must agree with my husband that most of those are history books and do serve a purpose… and call off my DIY projects!

I have always felt that books were sacred. Never was I able to take notes in one or bend the corners to hold my page. However, I think I would have the guts to put the scissors in these for such clever and elegant repurposes.

Here are some of the projects that caught my eye:

This reminds me of a display I saw at Anthro in December. They used books to create a wall – it was awesome!

Thanks for sharing such a fun array of projects. I might actually have to use my old books for something other than dust collecting now.
